The Reading Habits Tag

Hey dudes, welcome back! Today I’m doing a tag. I’ve never done a tag before on this blog, so this’ll be interesting!

I got tagged (not really, but anyone reading it was automatically tagged) by Bookish and Bright (who has, by the way, hands-down one of my favorite blogs out there and she has such a nice Insta too, so check her out). Enjoy!

Question #1: Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

I have two, actually! We have a super comfortable old couch in our room and I like to curl up in a corner of it to read.

Question #2: Bookmark or a random piece of paper?

As much as it bugs me, I always read on the fly and don’t think to bring bookmarks with me. So usually, it’s just a random piece of paper, but I’ve used a LOT of things as bookmarks. They can range from glue sticks to spoons to balls of modeling clay… so… make what you will out of that. Don’t get me wrong, I make a lot of cute bookmarks like these, but I never use them. ._.

Question #3: Can you stop reading anytime you want or do you have to stop at a certain page, chapter, part, ect.?

Ooh, tough one! If it’s a really good book or if the part I’m at is really riveting, I have to finish the page/chapter/part. But usually, I can stop at a moment’s notice.

Question #4: Do you eat or drink while reading?

Yep, especially during dinner when I haven’t had time to read that day.

Question #5: Can you read while listening to music/watching tv?

Yeah, I’ve tried that, and… no. It just doesn’t really work. I usually just end up getting distracted by the TV. Unless the book is that good.

Question #6: One book at a time, or several at once?

I try really hard not to read more than one book at a time but when I have free time at school and have forgotten my book, I just pick up one at school so I don’t get bored. So yeah, I am guilty of several at once.

Question #7: Reading at home or everywhere?

Everywhere. I have a busy(-ish) schedule, and I’d never finish a book if I only read at home. The one exception is reading in the car/train/plane etc. because I get headaches for some reason. I don’t know why? There’s probably a really simple explanation for that, so if you know, comment a quick description below.

Question #8: Reading out loud or silently in your head?

Silently. I’d rather not have everyone around me get annoyed. 😄

Question #9: Do you read ahead or skip pages?

NOOO. Why would I want to spoil something for myself? And I’m always afraid of missing out on details.

Question #10: Breaking the spine or keeping it new?

New books look neater and cleaner. Broken spines aren’t as clean but it shows that a book has been read a lot and therefore loved. If you break the spine ON PURPOSE right after you buy the book, though…
So, keeping it new?

Question #11: Do you write in books?

NOPE. I… I just can’t. Besides, I read library books a lot more because my mom hates clutter, and you can’t write in those. So I only buy books I love (case in point: the Harry Potter series), and even then I can’t bring myself to write in them. I wish I could say I write down notes and stuff while reading a book instead, but I’m not one of those people who has their life together, so I don’t do that either.

Well, I hope you guys liked that! I’m officially tagging YOU to do this tag if you have a blog. Even if you don’t. The point is, you can do this if you want. And if you relate to anything or want to see more posts in the future, send a like or comment or follow my way! It makes my day. 😀

In conclusion, I read. :)))
